Hello! For ten years, I’ve been writing about how we can embrace computing and the internet in our everyday lives.
There isn’t much I haven’t written about when it comes to the internet.
I enjoy writing hard-hitting, consumer-focused investigations and topical features for respected publishers like Which?. I have years of experience researching, commissioning and writing independent, respected reviews for hundreds of consumer technology products. I’m also available for proofing and sub-editing work.
Please read excerpts of past articles here.
What else? Oh, I’ve been on a winch in the North Sea being pulled up on to a former gun platform to interview and photograph the people running the sovereignty of Sealand!
Since 2000, my expertise on consumer technology topics like internet fraud and social networking has led to more than 100 appearances on national and regional UK radio and press (including BBC Radio 4, The Telegraph and The Guardian). I’ve been on Channel 5 News and GMTV talking about kids and the internet (see media appearances).
I’m a keen photographer, cartoonist and author (I’ve written a self-published teen novel, Drive To Nowhere). My Sealand photographs have been highly regarded worldwide, too.
In 1999, I won the Australian Business and Specialist Publishers’ Bell Award for Best Newcomer To Journalism. I studied journalism & photojournalism at Charles Sturt University, Australia.
